Autobiography Final

Family Background
My name is Pei-Yin, Jiang. I was born in a harmonious family. There are five people in my family, including my parents, one brother, one younger sister, and me. My father is a board mould master worker. He is an easygoing person. I learn to treat people kindly and always be enthusiastic about helping people from him. Furthermore, he also teaches me that harmony is most precious. He is the person who I admire most. My mother is an efficient career woman, who is a female tycoon in my eyes. Her motto is “Failure is nothing to be ashamed of. What’s shameful is losing motivation because of it.” Consequently, she always stirs me to try out everything courageously, and always reminds me about that everyone makes mistakes, so do not be afraid. My brother and sister are students. When we encounter difficulties, we would give each other a hand. Brought up in such a nice family, I have become a responsible, honest and mild-mannered person.

School life
I am studying at Department of Applied Foreign Languages in National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. I’m glad to choose the NTCVS as my senior high school. It’s a pleasure to befriend my classmates. They are always willing to bear me a hand when I encountered difficulties. We study together and encourage each other to be more hard-working. Teaching and learning promote each other. Hence, we all make great progress in English.
I served as the head of the cleaning crew as a freshman and served as the treasurer when I am a senior. As the head of the cleaning crew, I needed to ensure everyone has done their clean-up work and keep our class clean. Moreover, when I was the treasurer in our class, I needed to take care of our class fees. These experiences help me learn how to be more responsible to anything. Furthermore, I also learned how to cooperate with my classmates harmoniously in order to make our class better. And I realized that it was not easy to lead a whole class to finish one thing, it needed everyone’s coordination. It’s really a worthy experience.

Self-evaluation
Many people say I look so serious and unfriendly when I don’t smile. But actually, I am an easygoing person as long as you are familiar with me. When I decide to do one thing, I will persistently carry through the work to the end, and do it with patience. I always adhere to principles that do not bother others and be kind-hearted. Being influenced by my family, I am enthusiastic about helping those who are in need, being responsible for everything I did.
After school, I would stay at school and review lessons in class with my classmates, so we could discuss what we didn’t understand in the class. Moreover, I would play volleyball with friends in order to win the intramural volleyball game, since I was selected as a member of participants in my class. However, I didn’t play very well, and I was a little afraid of playing volleyball with my teammates, due to their unfriendly facial expressions. Despite my recreance, they still pointed out my mistakes for correction patiently. This experience had taught me a lesson that never shrink back from difficulties.

Future Perspectives
Interested in English, I will choose English as my major in university, since I don’t want to stop making progress in my English ability. Hence, I will spare no efforts to strengthen all aspects of English abilities. What’s more, I’d like to be a useful person who can put what I have learned into practice in society. And I set up a goal to be an outstanding tour guide who is capable of introducing Taiwan to the whole world with excellent English ability and communicating with foreigners fluently. While now I haven’t had enough competency for being a tour guide because it requires a variety of knowledge. Therefore, I hope I can be admitted to the university to receive further training in all aspects of English skills. By doing so, I can achieve my dream step by step.

Conclusion
I am really yearning to be admitted to National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism. Although my English competence still leaves something to be desired, I will do my utmost to advance my ability and make good use of the four years in university. Sincerely, I hope that after you read my autobiography my qualification will affirm that I am a competitive applicant.

I have been the class English tutor for almost three years. I like to discuss and share the experience of learning English with people a lot. We often read “China Post” and ”Time Magazine” and discuss the content, the word usage and practice speaking English by discussing the articles we have read. At the beginning we found it was quiet hard because we could rarely understand the content but we encouraged each other not to give up. Gradually we had made improvement, we were so excited by it that the group discussion of English books and magazines became one of the most enjoyable things for us every week. I have won the first prize of school English speech contest in second year of high school and many of my English speech contests in my second year of high school and many of my English articles were put on “Students Post.”

Hence bookstores became my playground and books have been my playmates since I was young. My mom would show me those fancy books with cute illustrations on it. Firstly I was drawn by the pictures and then I was curious about these strange symbols called words. That was my first contact with English. Best works of the semester-3

Should students be dressed in the bound uniforms? Despite the fact that wearing uniforms is uncomfortable and airtight, I think that it’s necessary for the students to wear uniforms to attend school because by wearing uniforms can we make it easier to identify their students conveniently. Furthermore, wearing uniforms can improve the security of campus for the drillmasters or teachers keeping their eyes peeled when they see the students who wear the school’s uniforms. Finally, wearing uniforms will make the students more cohesive. When the students behave well off campus, the uniforms will represent the honor of the school. Consequently, I strongly believe that the students should wear uniforms.

The Internet plays an important role in our daily life, and there are more and more people meeting each other through online dating sites. However, I am on the same page as those who oppose the online meeting. While it is true that meeting people through online dating sites can make people connect more kinds of people all over the world, I believe it is insecure if the person you meet on the Internet doesn’t tell the truth about himself or herself. You will get into trouble because of this affair. Moreover, the people on the Internet may hold something undivulged. The person’s purpose of making friends through the Internet remains unknown. Maybe he or she just wants to obtain money from you by deception. Last but not least, if you give him or her your personal information, it may affect your real life seriously. You may be disturbed if he or she continually pesters you. In sum, be careful when you really want to meet people through the Internet, and do not consent to his or her asking you out easily.

Best works of the semester-1

Why does English become more and more important in Taiwan nowadays? Below are several reasons. First of all, English is the most commonly used language. It can eliminate the language barriers between two people from the different countries. For instance, if you meet a Korean, who doesn’t know Chinese but speaks English, you can understand and communicate with each other in English. Furthermore, good English ability can also help you find a job easily. In recent years, Taiwan is an island nation surrounded by ocean. And trading with the foreigners has become the main economic source in Taiwan. As a result, many corporations would regard the English ability as essentials. Consequently, the better English ability you have, the more chance you will be recruited. Last but not least, with good English ability you can travel around the world without apprehensions. You won’t be in dread of the unknown conditions such as getting lost and not knowing how to reserve a room in an unfamiliar country. It’s because you can use English to seek someone’s help. And then you can have a wonderful vacation. In sum, promote your own English ability so that you will have superior competitiveness in modern society.

Disscusing effects-2_revised

I am a member of a group of progressive residents that want Acton to change. There are several reasons why I advocate managing the factory on the town. First of all, there will be more jobs so that the residents can get jobs easily and they can work near their home. Secondly, the benefits made by the factory can bring more public recreational facilities to the locals. Thirdly, the natives can access to more people and learn more information from these new residents. In short, although the change at short notice may disturb some locals, I am still strongly on the same page of the operating of the factory.

Disscusing effects-1_revised

The presence of global warming has several effects on society. First, the global warming drives the temperature up every year, and outdoor activities become all the more difficult to humans. Moreover, the rising seas threaten some animals’ subsistence including human beings. And there will be less and less place for animals to perch. Third, the extinction of animals may affect the ecological balance that supports our lives. Consequently, we should not waste our precious energy, and do something subservient for Natural Mother lest it should counterattack.

discussing cause-2_revised

I have made an important decision to get married with someone I love. There are some reasons why I made this decision. First of all, after getting married, I can have someone rely on when I get into trouble, and we can face all the difficulties in our lives together. Second, I can have someone earn money with me, and we can pursue our dreams, such as buying a house on our own. Moreover, we can establish a harmonious home consisted of sweet couple and many lovely children. Third, I can have someone keep me company. When I feel sad, lonely, upset or anxious, my husband can listen to me and comfort me. He will be the spiritual support of me. To sum up, once I make up my mind, then I will persevere in my efforts.

discussing cause-1_revised

There are several reasons why Michael Williams’ business failed. First of all, the location of the music store is not ideal. It’s located on a small street and it’s just 3 miles away from a shopping center that has two large music stores. As a result, Williams’ store is hard to be found and it's easy to be defeated by the other two large shops. Second, the categories of the CDs sold in the store are less than other stores, so customers do not have enough option to choose. Third, the operating hours are too short, and the time that the store opened is improper. When the store opens, many people don’t have leisure time to shop for CDs. Last, Williams doesn’t make good use of money. He bought too many CDs at the first time, and he doesn’t consider whether the price of the CDs is appropriate or not. Moreover, Williams’ store is small, but he employs two sale clerks. Consequently, the cost of staffs and CDs brings Williams to his knee. In short, Williams should have thought twice before he decides to operate a music store lest the store should shut down.
